The Market has been founded to pursue the following goals:
- To give local growers and producers of agricultural commodities and other farm-related products alternative marketing opportunities.
- To promote the sale of locally grown farm products.
- Foster an environment to encourage community members to participate in agricultural pursuits.
- To improve the variety, freshness, taste and nutritional value of produce available in the Minocqua area.
- To provide an opportunity for farmers to deal directly with residents and visitors to Minocqua rather than through third parties and to thereby get to know and learn from one another.
- To provide an educational forum for customers to learn the uses and benefits of quality, locally grown or prepared food products. To provide educational opportunities for producers to test and refine their products and marketing skills.
- To enhance the quality of life in the Minocqua area by providing a community activity which fosters social gathering and interaction.
First of all, my name is Susan Long. I formulated the first ever Deet Free Tick and Mosquito Repellent that is used on Kids, Adults and Dogs TOO that was EVER sold in the grocery stores in the Northwoods.
I am as RED, WHITE and BLUE as you can get! I believe in what is Right is Right.
I started out doing the Farmers Market 5 years ago.
Our Naturally Northwoods Go Away Tick and Mosquito Spray is a HUGE HIT!!
We are working on going Nationwide. We are the BEST SELLING all Natural Bug Spray in over 50 stores.
Last year..... the Minocqua's Farmers Market, lost their Manager Beth Weitzer and all of a sudden, they had lost my email saying I was returning for my 4th YEAR!! That all of a sudden, they had "SUCH A GREAT RESPONSE THAT THEY NO LONGER HAVE ANY SPOTS AVAILBLE"
All last year, there were spots available.
This year I put in my application EARLY and they say, "We regret to inform you but all of our "crafter" positions are taken!!
OK.... the board is now no longer the Chamber of Commerce but individuals who also participate in other locals farmers markets.
I found out who, why and what the HECK was going on!!
Do you remember High School? Where there are just a "few people" who BULLY others, just to get their way, Control Power Freaks??? Jealousy is a BAD THING! I've watched these certain few GLARE at me while we are selling TONS of our Deet Free Spray. Never really being nice, always acting like you had done something really wrong.
So, all I'm going to say is something is REALLY CHEESEY!!! no pun attended!!
AND ALL THE SOAP IN THE WORLD WOULDN'T CLEAN THIS UP LOL another PUN!!!

I'm having a ball writing this as this is what I love to do. I have 250,000 readers on my Lyme Blogs. I feel quite appreciated by the stores that carry our Naturally Northwoods Go Away Tick and Mosquito Spray Line. I feel loved, I feel appreciated, I feel like I'm doing something right in this lifetime.
BUT.....there is this side where as Summer comes into the picture I become very angry, resentful, defeated, and just pure disgusted on the UNFAIRNESS of this all!
What REALLY is MORE IMPORTANT than the prevention of Mosquito and Tick Diseases????
I'm kept out just because of maybe they don't like that I'm too tall, by hair is too blonde, or maybe I sell too much Bug Spray???
Jealousy, again, is just a dead end road. I will continue on, making Lemonades out of Lemons. But I just really needed to put this out there. Because when BAD THINGS HAPPEN there NEEDS to be some kind of PEACE with that.
My PEACE is writing this PIECE.
Our family, with many children, is out over $5,000 in revenue from the Farmers Market.
We so LOVE Gary and the Eagle Rivers Farmers Market but am considering in not participating as all the NEGATIVITY from those few who also set up at that market as Minocqua Farmers Market.
Our Bug Spray was voted #1 in Appleton, WI.
Dr. Mercola and his wife, ERIN, LOVE our Bug Spray.
We are on the BRINK OF SUCCESS!!
So all of our FANS and FRIENDS, I continue on this road alone. Not giving up!
Maybe this is just how LIFE IS???
I ask, How is it hard to be NICE? Considerate? Respectful? Nonjudgemental? Fair???
